Shichiku Kyo-machiya
Kita Ward, Kyoto City
The date of construction is unknown, but the low ceiling height of the upper floor suggests that this Kyo-machiya was built more than 100 years ago. Its exterior proudly maintains its vintage charm, while inside, later renovations have seamlessly blended with the traditional features of a Kyo-machiya. The location, facing a small street one street north of the main street "Kitayama-dori," is both convenient and quiet. The area is also notable for its proximity to natural and historical sites such as the serene Kamo River, the venerable Daitokuji Temple, and the sacred Kamigamo Shrine.
