Onagawa Minka
Kamiichi Town, Toyama Pref.
Kamiichi Town in Toyama Prefecture is located in the eastern part of the Toyama Plain, known as one of the best rice growing areas in Japan. To the north lies the rich fishing grounds of Toyama Bay (Japan Sea), and to the south towers the 3,000-meter-high Tateyama mountain range. Onagawa, the small village where this modest Minka stands, sits along an ancient pilgrimage route that connects the sea and mountains. Although the house may appear simple, it is surprisingly spacious with many rooms, offering various usage possibilities. It takes less than 30 minutes to JR Toyama Station by car. From there, you can take the Shinkansen to Tokyo in just over 2 hours.
