Kumomi Kominka
Matsuzaki Town, Kamo District, Shizuoka Pref.
The blue sea, the blue sky, and the beautiful peak of Fuji rising in the distance. "Nishi-Izu" in the western part of the Izu Peninsula has long been a holiday destination for people in the Tokyo metropolitan area. Surrounded by mountains on three sides, "Kumomi," which is said to have derived its name from the fact that only clouds can be seen, is located in the southern part of the Nishi-Izu. Although it is a small port town, it has a long history and is a scenic spot known for its beautiful beaches and hot springs. This Kominka, with the medieval castle mountain behind it, embodies the history of Kumomi. It is located in a prime location in the village and is likely a historic house related to a lord’s family who lived in this area for over 500 years. Using this house as a base, you can enjoy hot springs all year round, and fishing, swimming, and diving in the nearby sea in different seasons.
