Iizumi Kominka
Kazo City, Saitama Pref.
The Tone River is the largest river in the Kanto Plain. Iizumi, located on the banks of the river that was once known as a raging river, has been inhabited for 20,000 years, and while fighting the threat of the river, has come to be known for its delicious rice production thanks to the fertile soil. The small boat placed under the eaves of the barn of this Kominka conveys this relationship with the river. The surrounding environment is spacious and quiet, surrounded by the Tone River and rice fields. The interior of the house is also well maintained with water features, etc., while retaining its old-fashioned style. Although it is in the suburbs, it is possible to get to Tokyo by car in just over an hour.
