Obu Kominka
Sakurai City, Nara Pref.
In the eastern mountains of the Nara Basin, Japan's oldest ancient capital region, lies Hasedera Temple, known for its Kannon Sacred Temple and peony blossoms. This Kominka is located in the Oobu village to the north, but the area is also steeped in history, with a shrine said to be the site of an ancient princess' palace, which is also related to Hasedera Temple, and a giant tree that is 1,500 years old. The property itself stands on an elevated site with scenic, natural views. The main building is connected to an annex with panoramic windows, creating multiple rooms suitable for multi-generational living. By car, you can reach the centers of Osaka and Kyoto, as well as Kansai International Airport, in less than an hour and a half.
