Umegahata Minka
Ukyo Ward Kyoto City, Kyoto Pref.
Umegahata, located in the northwest part of Kyoto city, is at the entrance to the Tamba Mountains that stretch to the north of Kyoto prefecture. The forestry industry has flourished in the area since ancient times, and today the area has became an upscale residential area, favored for its long history and quiet environment. This Minka, which has a delicate and elegant appearance typical of a Kyo-Machiya, is located in front of the gate of Hiraoka Hachiman Shrine in the center of Umegahata. There is a former store building on the premises that used to be a small cafe. This is a rare property where you can open a small shop while living inside the traditional house. There is a parking space for car as well. You can drive to Kyoto Station and downtown Kyoto in 20~25 minutes.
