Fujiyama Minka
Ayabe City, Kyoto Pref.
Ayabe, a city in the northern part of Kyoto Prefecture, is located on a plain along the Yura River. It was a castle town in the pre-modern period and was prosperous with its spinning mills in the modern period. This Minka, already in livable condition, is located on a hill in the south of Ayabe city. You can get a panoramic view of the city from the second-floor window, and despite its convenient location near Ayabe Station (12 minutes walk), where express trains stop, it is also blessed with nature, with Mount Tera-yama famous for its cherry blossoms and sea of clouds behind it. It takes just over an hour to get to central Kyoto by both train and car.
