Kami-Osawa Minka
Katsuura City, Chiba Pref.
The Boso Peninsula, east of Tokyo Bay, has long been known as a scenic spot with warm winters and cool summers. Katsuura, located near the tip of the peninsula, is the coolest town in the metropolitan area and has been attracting visitors that want to escape the scorching heat during summer. Osawa is a small fishing village in Katsuura City, but this Minka is located in the agricultural district of “Kami-Osawa“, which is on a elevated hill (138m from sea level). Although the house is not that old, it combines traditional style with modern equipment, making it sturdy and comfortable to live in. The view of the Pacific Ocean from the nearby old staircase path, “Dotera-zaka“, is wonderful, and from there you can walk down to the seaside in just a short distance. It takes just under two hours to get to Narita Airport and about two hours to get to Tokyo.
