Kinugasa Kyo-Machiya
Kita Ward, Kyoto City
An oriyadate type Kyo-machiya that was once a weaving mill for producing Nishijinori woven silk. Although the original weaving site on the first floor was changed into a Japanese style living room, the rest of the house was kept close to its original form. At the back of the house is a Japanese style garden with a small pond, and over the concrete wall you can see the premises of the world heritage site Kinkakuji Temple, also known as the golden pavilion.
